Judge Moreschi is the right choice for Warren County Court Judge.

Whoever is elected to be Warren County Court Judge will preside over the highest criminal charges in the County – the types of cases that draw media attention and public criticism. Because of that, and the other important matters heard in the County and Surrogate’s Court, the person elected to that position should be already proven; someone whose track record and abilities are already established. Judge Moreschi has already proven she is that person: In her current position as Glens Falls City Judge, has already earned public confidence by consistently demonstrating trustworthiness, credibility, fairness, and impartiality.

EXPERIENCED & TRUSTWORTHY

With 25 years of experience in the courtroom, no other candidate is as qualified for Warren County Court Judge as Judge Moreschi.

Judge Nikki Moreschi was the first female New York State Judge in Warren County. When elected, she will be the first female County and Surrogate Court Judge in Warren County. She currently presides over Glens Falls City Court’s Criminal Part, which includes felony and misdemeanor cases. Recently, Glens Falls City Court has been authorized to hear misdemeanor drug cases not just from Glens Falls, but also from all over the county, including Bolton, Chester, Hague, Horicon, Johnsburg, Lake George, and more. Judge Moreschi is also the supervising judge of Warren County’s only Domestic Violence Court for crimes committed among family members. In addition, Judge Moreschi assisted in creating the County’s Centralized Arraignment Part Court (“CAP Court”) for defendants charged with a crime after courts are closed.

Off the Bench, Judge Nikki Moreschi has been a courtroom attorney for 25 years, passed the Bar Exam in Ohio and New York and is licensed to practice in both states. Her entire legal career has centered on representing individuals, families, children and businesses before judges and juries. Judge Moreschi started her own law firm in 2009 – Moreschi Law- and in 2011, she received the Post Star’s 20 Under 40 Award as an attorney.

Professionally and personally, Judge Moreschi has dedicated herself to the community and the law – she brings to the table the rare combination of both judicial and law practice experience that no other candidate can match. No other candidate has both presided over a jury trial and presented a case to a jury as an attorney. No other candidate has been responsible for sentencing defendants, signing orders of protection in the middle of the night, reviewing and executing search warrants in murder cases and issuing written decisions under their own name.

A PROVEN RECORD

Experienced judge and lawyer, Judge Moreschi is a long-time Warren County resident and advocate for children and families in and out of the courtroom.

Her 25-year career has included work on both sides of the bench, most recently as City Court Judge and as Attorney for the Child in Warren, Washington, and Essex Counties, making her uniquely qualified to uphold and protect the law, which she knows well.

No other candidate has as much experience or devotion to keeping party bias out of the courtroom. The people of Warren County deserve an unwavering and uncompromising judicial candidate who will not change their position or party in order to be more “appealing” for personal political gain.

Choose transparency, integrity, and honor. Choose real judicial experience. Choose Judge Nikki Moreschi for Warren County Judge.

PRIORITIES AS A JUDGE

TRUST & EXPERIENCE

Whoever is elected to be Warren County Court Judge will preside over the highest criminal charges in the County – the types of cases that draw media attention and public criticism.  Because of that, and the other important matters heard in the County and Surrogate’s Court, the person elected to that position should be already proven; someone whose track record and abilities are already established.  Judge Moreschi has already proven she is that person: In her current position as Glens Falls City Judge, she has already earned public confidence by consistently demonstrating trustworthiness, credibility, fairness, and impartiality.

FAIR

Warren County has the luxury of being a safe, protected county, and it can continue to be – with the benefit of Drug Treatment Courts, Mental Health Courts, and Veteran’s Courts.  If defendants are committing crimes because of underlying substance abuse problems, undiagnosed mental illnesses, or trauma from their efforts in serving our country, they should be evaluated, diagnosed, treated, and managed, so they can avoid repeat crimes and a criminal record.  NO programs have been started in Warren County Court since 2002, when the felony drug treatment court began.  It’s PAST TIME for new programs to be added.

CONSISTENT

Judge Moreschi will fairly apply the law. For example, New York State has enacted laws to obtain pistol permits:  The current County Judge, John S. Hall Jr., requires that individuals be residents of Warren County for one year before he will issue a handgun permit.  Judge Moreschi does not see the need to impose additional restrictions above those that have already been implemented by the state, and does not intend to continue the one-year waiting period.  As long as you meet the state requirements, you should not have to wait an additional year in order to be granted a permit.

TOUGH

The people of Warren County deserve to be safe.  They deserve a judge who will not be afraid to impose tough sentences when they are clearly deserved. When someone who has had repeated opportunities to change their life chooses instead to continue committing crimes, that person should expect a strict sentence. Judge Moreschi will hold repeat offenders accountable, and will not be afraid to impose strict sentences.  Judge Moreschi is also in favor of a review of the recently enacted bail reform. She agrees with  legislators that say it can be improved.
